Trevorrow had told the filmmakers, "if I direct this screenplay, it's going to be a bad movie. I'm gonna do a bad job, because I just don't get it.Trevorrow and Connolly wrote their own draft of the script over a couple of weeks.

London to Brighton

London to Brighton was written and co directed by Ken Marshall and Paul Andrew Williams and produced by their company Steel Mill Pictures. London to Brighton was originally not going to be created at all because Paul Andrew Williams wanted to produce a different movie but could not get the budget that he required. He only had £80,000 and in order to produce The Cottage he required roughly 2 million pounds. it was produced on such a low budget because during its creation the director made use of guerrilla film making in order to keep costs low and maximise profit. London to Brighton was distributed by a company called Vertigo, which is a British independent TV and film company. Vertigo not only distributes films but also produces them, however they did not produce London to Brighton.

London to Brighton was also heavaly praised for its gritty and realistic depiction of the horrors it portraied and did not romantasise anything. This was a move that got it a lot of recignition from both fans and critics alike.

Shifty

Shifty is an urban crime thriller written and produced by the company "Between the eyes" but has since changed its name to 42. 42 sent on Rory Aitken and Ben Pugh to produce it. Finally the film was distributed by a company called Metrodome distribution

Shifty is a story that depicts the main character Shifty and his life as a drug dealer. It shows shifty's day to day life as well as having a cohesive overall narrative that, similarly to London to Brighton, did nothing to romanticise drugs and the life it promotes.

Shifty was also funded using the microwave scheme, which was a scheme that focused on creating British films in partnership with the BBC which ran from 2006 to 2012, which had very little shooting time and funding. In the case of shifty filming was streatched across just 18 days and had a budget of less than £100,000.
